Obituary for Lowell Ronald Armstrong

Lowell Ronald Armstrong, age 89, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 8:35 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018, at the NHC Health Care in Joplin, Missouri. He was born January 30, 1929, in Centerburg, Ohio, the son of Charles Edward and Laura Lucile (Poland) Armstrong.

After graduating from high school, Lowell graduated from the International Bible Training Center in Newport, Delaware on June 18, 1989. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during World War II and was an ordained minister through Community Fellowship in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Lowell attended Fairton Christian Center in Fairton, New Jersey and Victory Christian Fellowship in Newport, Delaware. He worked as a foreman for a construction company and was a member of the Freedom Christian Center for 13 years and has attended Christ Chapel for the last three years.

On September 22, 1973, he married Carol Gail Wolfe, in Vineland, New Jersey. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2009.

Lowell is survived by five daughters, Ruth Phillips of Republic, Missouri, Laura Armstrong of Zirconia, North Carolina, Christine Caldiero of Springfield, Missouri, Susie Bingham of Ash Grove, Missouri and Lisa Palmer of West Plains, Missouri; four sons, Larry Armstrong, of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Patrick Armstrong of Stuart, Florida, Lowell Armstrong, Jr. of Miami, Florida and John Caregnato of Springfield, Missouri; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

His parents, Charles and Lucile, son, Steven Armstrong, his first wife, Lois, his second wife, Mary, his third wife, Carol, brother, Wendell Armstrong and three sisters, Evelyn, Freda and Eileen preceded him in death.

A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
